How We Started

Wheelen RV Center was founded by Marty Wheelen and family in 1971, in a Skelly Oil Full Service Station. You know the kind...wash the windshield, check the oil and tire pressure, fill up the tank with ethyl. That station was just nine blocks north of Wheelen RV Center�s current location at 4301 S. Range Line in Joplin. Since we moved to this location we have expanded at least 7 times, growing from a 2-bay shop (couldn�t get a big motor home in and shut the door) to a new 5-bay shop with a lift. The most recent addition is the Workhorse Chassis Warranty and Service Center. We can now service the engine, driveline, suspension and the coach. This makes it easier for you, our customer with one-stop shopping.

Our sales and service staff are here to service all your needs. We recently added Beaver Motor Coaches to our product line-up, starting with tent campers to our high line motor homes.

We took on the Winnebago line of motor homes three years ago and we received three Circle of Excellence awards from Winnebago, which we are quite proud of. The Circle of Excellence award is awarded for customer service and manufacturer satisfaction.
